The days are growing shorter, the air is crisp, and here in Minnesota the tamarack trees are beginning their yearly transformation—shifting from soft green to glowing gold before shedding their needles for winter. This change of seasons is a reminder that transition is a natural part of life. Like the lean bear preparing for the long winter months ahead, we all have goals to tackle before year-end. While our work may not be as simple (or as satisfying) as a bear adding a few extra pounds, we remain focused on moving the needle and making progress on what matters most.
Fall also brings its own excitement with the return of football season. Whether you’re cheering on a favorite college team or navigating the ups and downs of your fantasy league, the camaraderie and competition add an extra spark to this time of year. It’s a welcome reminder that even as we work hard, it’s just as important to make time for the moments that bring us joy.
This fall is shaping up to be an important one for the equipment finance industry. Interest rates remain high, and while the Federal Reserve made a quarter-point cut and may continue to ease rates in the coming months, uncertainty continues to influence capital investment decisions. Many organizations are looking to leverage data-driven insights to navigate these market dynamics with confidence and precision.
October is also a busy month for conferences and connections. I’ll be attending the NEFA Fall Conference in Minneapolis (October 14–16) and the ELFA Annual Convention on Marco Island, Florida (October 26–28). If you’re at either event, please say hello—I’d love to hear how you’re navigating this season, both personally and professionally.
As we head into the final stretch of the year, this is our fourth quarter focus: to reflect, plan, and prepare for what’s ahead. Whether you’re closing out projects, setting new goals, or simply enjoying the beauty of fall, here’s to a season filled with progress, connection and maybe a few touchdowns along the way.
